"I try to deal with the complexities of power and social life, but as far as the visual presentation goes I purposely avoid a high degree of difficulty. I want people to be drawn into the space of the work."
-Barbara Kruger
The book 2150 AD by Thea Alexander.

The book explores macro philosophy, the idea that everything is not only related, but they are cosmically one and that everything that is, is perfect. The story centers around the dichotomy of a future enlightened "macro" society and a close-minded 70's-era "micro" society.
The line explores what women would wear in the next astrological age, which occurs about every 2,150 years. The next astrological age will be the Age of Aquarius, a time focusing on humanitarianism, environmentalism, altruism and introspection. This a reflection of self, believing that one should take the time to explore oneself in relation to others and the cosmos. This process is a step towards enlightenment, allowing one to project a positive energy to spread love and goodness. White is the color the human eye sees when it looks at light which contains all the wavelengths of the visible spectrum, at full brightness without absorption. White light is the space within the universe where positive energies are stored. In 2150 AD, one's clothing turns white when they reach full enlightenment. With hopes of working towards a utopic society, the Age of Aquarius is focused on humanitarianism, environmentalism, altruism and introspection. With every utopia exists a possibility of a dystopia. Dystopia indicates an indefinite world in which the contradictions of the society brings pessimistic visions of the future.

The Suzanne Rae ss14 collection is an exploration of enlightened fashion. Influenced by the cult classic book 2150 AD by Thea Alexander, the collection addresses the evolution of human needs and awareness in the future. Minimalist silhouettes are paired with high-performance fabrics and utilitarian details to create a unique mix of form and function.

The year 2150 is also the start of the next astrological age, the Age of Aquarius, thus the collection pulls together a range of water-inspired fabrics from waterproof nylon and surf-style neoprene to lightweight crinkled organza and flowing crepe de chine. The use of utilitarian yet luxurious fabrics in ready-to-wear allows one to release their inhibitions and experience life fuller. The Suzanne Rae ss14 Collection seeks to empower the modern-day woman through her clothing and help her become more aware of herself going into tomorrow.
